Bowker’s Selby Distribution Centre in North Yorkshire, consists of 25,000 pallet locations and offers high quality racked warehousing designed for multi-line order picking. The well-maintained AA-BRCGS accredited facilities also include block stacking for bulk storage, secure external compounds and purpose designed food grade facilities across 25,000 m2.

The Distribution Centre is accredited by the Soil Association to store organic products. The secure site operates on a 24/5 basis and teams of highly trains operatives handle everything from devanning containers to complex pre-retail pick and pack activities for some of the world’s largest food manufactures.

ADR Transport in North Yorkshire

Bowker are renowned specialists in the carriage of hazardous goods and chemicals. Our ADR fleet is fully equipped to ensure full compliance at all times and our drivers are trained beyond statutory requirements.

The Hazchem Network is UK’s the only network dedicated to chemicals. In 2021, Bowker’s Selby Distribution Centre became responsible for Hazchem’s YO postcodes servicing ADR distribution throughout North Yorkshire.

We store ambient food grade products ranging from raw materials to finished goods to ingredients. This also extends to food grade packaging.

Our online portal allows for full visibility of stock.

Our Selby DC is powered by 100% renewable energy. All management are carbon literacy trained, helping make decisions and changes to improve our carbon output. Additionally, customers are now able to view and track CO2 emissions associated to Bowker’s warehousing and transport activities undertaken on their behalf (assisting with scope 3 emission reporting) all of which is available on the customer’s web portal. This creates an opportunity for partnership, finding ways along with our customers to reduce carbon footprint.

Selby’s distribution centre is proud to be supporting the York Special Care baby Unit!

In 2025, the Selby team are supporting the York Special Care baby Unit! They specialise in the relief, care and treatment of premature and sick newborn babies in the Special Care Baby Unit at York Hospital, by assisting with the purchase of specialised medical equipment, improving amenities and facilities, providing emotional support, and financial assistance with travel costs, for parents and siblings, and supporting the education and vocational training of staff on the unit.
